I don't have many words for Cinque Terre. Speaks for itself! Located on the west coast, it is a MUST SEE and experience in Italy. Absolutely incredible! We didn't do much, which is the point of visiting Cinque Terre. The square and harbor is the lowest point of the village. Everything is UP (very very up) from there. Our hotel was over 100 steps up (as in stairs). We really needed a break so relaxing is just about all we did.
We stayed in Vernazza, one of the 5 villages in the Cinque Terre.
Breathtaking views of the Mediteranean and the village.
This is a cute restaurant where we enjoyed lots of incredible fresh seafood.
Seafood Risotto - loaded with calamari, mussles and shrimp
Pretty proud of myself for eating mussles...not my fave but the risotto was to die for!!
View of where we spent the entire day!!
My jaw was literally on the ground every time I layed eyes on the flowers. They were every where and they were the kind I've only seen at weddings!
Hello Prosecco!! Loved it!
(Thanks to the Duncans for introducing us!!!)
Gianni Franzi was our hotel and also an incredible restaurant. Pesto originated in the Cinque Terre area. We enjoyed the BEST pesto pasta at Gianni Franzi, as well as their own house wine.
On our way out of Cinque Terre we stopped for breakfast at hightly recommended bakery. Some of the best food we put in our mouth all 2 weeks!
